The Ressen Chou (烈尖頂 Violent Tipped Peak?) is one of Karin's special attacks, introduced along with her in Street Fighter Alpha 3. In Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, this move is Karin's V-Reversal, following Yasha Gaeshi being turned into a proper counter in her second V-Trigger.

Input
All appearances Reverse Shoryuken motion + Punch, Punch for a second blow (or Down-forward + Punch, Punch during Guren Ken)
V-Reversal Arcade-Stick-Right+Punch x3 (During guard)

Description[]

Executed by either performing a reverse Shoryuken motion? motion and pressing punch (or by pressing down-forward and punch during any of Guren Ken's two hits), Karin rushes forwards in a semi-crouched stance and launches up to two advancing elbow strikes targeting the opponent's midsection. The second attack is also known as the Ressen Chouchuu (烈尖頂肘 Violent Tipped Peak Elbow?).

In Street Fighter V, the move was executed by pressing forward and all three punches after blocking an attack. Karin lunges forward with an elbow strike that knocks the opponent back.

Tactics[]

Precise timing is needed for the second strike, making the move quite difficult to combo into, as it must be done very fast to connect. However, the attack does decent damage, and the strikes can be delayed to snuff attempted counters via frame trapping. With precise spacing from the user, this move can be made somewhat safe if the tips of her elbows connect. Otherwise, this move is highly unsafe due to the long recovery time.

In Street Fighter V, it serves as her V-Reversal. This move can be used to stop the opponent's pressure or to get out of tough situations. If Karin is able to knock the opponent down with this move, she can jump or dash in on them. Because she has low health and limited defensive options, it is crucial to use her V-Reversal to get out of situations.
