Effie (エフィー Efī?) is a non-playable character in the Street Fighter series. She is Necro's girlfriend who first appeared in his ending in Street Fighter III: New Generation, where she rescued Necro. In 2nd Impact and 3rd Strike, she appears as a member of the Judgment Girls.
Biography[]
Appearance[]
Effie is very small and has long blonde hair (that is dyed red in the edges in her Street Fighter V appearance) held in two ponytails by red bows and she has blue eyes. She wears heavy mascara under her eyes, giving her a spooky, zombie-like appearance.
In the Street Fighter III series, she is seen wearing a low-cut red dress that is covered in studs. She also wears a large, red collar that is covered by the same protrusions as the dress, and red gloves, also covered in these protrusions. She wears red boots.
In Effie's Shadaloo C.R.I. profile artwork, she also wears a red, low-cut dress though it is not covered in 'spikes' like her SFIII attire. The dress has a single strap over the left shoulder and and a black pattern running diagonally down it. The boots, gloves and collar are now black in color and she has bandages wrapped around her legs. She is also shown carrying a chainsaw. Additional makeup, in the form of two black tears, is shown.
Personality[]
Not much is known about her personality but Effie is loyal to Necro and also mimics some of his actions as seen whenever he loses a match, she'll come and lay besides him and is seen to care about him. Effie also has a distaste for the Secret Society for kidnapping and experimenting on her and Necro.
Story[]
Early life[]
Effie met Necro while they were captured by Gill's organization, Illuminati. During that time they became fast friends, and soon lovers. During their time with the Illuminati, they were experimented on as part of the "G-Project".
Street Fighter V[]
In Rashid's character story, Effie appears briefly on Necro's profile picture in Rashid's contacts ("FreedomTraveler_Ilya") and she is also seen in the Spooky Arena stage.
2nd Impact[]
Effie appears during Necro's ending when she saves him from Gill's trap.
3rd Strike[]
In 3rd Strike, Effie and Necro are now fugitives after Gill finds out Necro survived. Gill orders his organization to hunt them down. While running away from members of the organization, they reach the top of a train trying to escape out of Russia. Necro fights them off and succeeds. Then Necro realizes that, even though he's a mutant, he can use his abilities to protect Effie.

UDON comics[]
In the UDON comics, she appears to have abilities based around weight manipulation, allowing her to change her weight with no changes to her physical appearance. She uses this ability to stop a truck driving towards her, with no damage to herself, as well as for aerial attacks, first jumping into the air and then dropping down with her weight increased.

Trivia[]
- In Street Fighter X Tekken, Lili's Swap Costume was originally going to be based on Effie. She ended up with a Poison themed one in the final version.
- Effie's design on the Shadaloo Combat Research Institute website appears to take influence from the DC Comics character Harley Quinn, particularly her design from the 2016 movie Suicide Squad and her appearance from the DC Rebirth era of the comics, which was loosely modeled after the film's design.
