Executed by performing a Shoryuken motion and pressing kick, Gen performs an upward flying single-handstand-style kick. The attack does not end there however; if the player continues to tap the kick button at precisely-timed intervals, Gen will continue to kick in a "pedaling" motion as he continues to ascend, ending with a turning roundhouse kick (his Uken command normal in his Crane Style) which knocks down the opponent. The subsequent kicks must be precisely timed, as the opponent must neither be knocked out of reach nor allowed to fall.
Besides its obvious anti-air usage, the attack can, with perfect timing, reach a maximum of 6, 7 or 8 hits (the initial rising kick itself and the followup kicks, depending on which kick button is used to perform the first strike), thus also working perfectly to end a combo or quickly punish at close range.
However, the attack can also be button-mashed quickly in order to have the attack end quickly, without the final kick and only a few of the initial extra kicks in quick succession, so Gen can reach the ground faster for a favorable position/situation, especially to set up a juggle of some sort (this is especially true in older games pre-SFIV).
It should be noted that each follow-up kick from the move counts as a separate Special Attack, thus in this case it can tack on damage scaling calculation very quickly.
