The Karate Clown is a character who was meant to appear in Super Street Fighter IV^[1]. During an interview with GameSpot, Seth Killian mentioned that they wanted to add another outlandish character similar to Blanka or Dhalsim. These early concepts started with the idea of a clown who specialized in martial arts. The producers eventually decided to go with Hakan over the Karate Clown, however.

When pressured with a request for the Karate Clown, Seth Killian stated "There is always time in the Street Fighter world. Keep hope alive for the Karate Clown."
