The Kazekiri (風斬り? "Wind Cutter") is one of Ibuki's special attacks, introduced in the Street Fighter III series. It is alternately spelled as Kazegiri in some games such as Super Street Fighter IV.

DescriptionEdit

Ex-kazegiri

The EX Kazegiri in Super Street Fighter IV.

Executed by performing a Shoryuken motion? and pressing kick, the attack is a jumping high kick that launches the foe. The damage inflicted and execution time are determined by the kick button pressed: light kick version does the least damage but has the least startup and recovery; heavy kick version does the most damage but has the most startup and recovery; while medium kick version is in between.

The EX Special version does not launch the foe, allowing Ibuki to continue her combo as she falls. In Super Street Fighter IV, the EX has Ibuki follow up with a backflipping second kick, turning it into a bicycle kick. In Street Fighter V, the EX has Ibuki throw a single explosive kunai towards her airborne opponent.

Tactics Edit

Kazekiri is primarily useful within chain combos. The EX Version will allow her to follow up with a Kunai, keeping the opponent at bay although they can hit her with a Focus Attack Level 2 if they predict the follow up Kunai. EX version is best used as Anti-air and is a decent wake up move as well.
