The Messatsu Gou Hadou (滅殺豪波動, "Annihilating Great Surge") is a Super Combo used by Akuma in many of his appearances.

In Marvel vs. Capcom, Ryu (Mode Change) can use this move. Cyber-Akuma also uses the move, where it is referred to as High Mega Gou Beam (ハイメガ豪ビーム).

DescriptionEdit

MessatsuGouHadou

Akuma using the Messatsu-Gohado Ungyo in Marvel vs. Capcom 3

The Messatsu Gou Hadou is a much stronger purple version of the Shinku Hadoken that inflicts a great deal of damage, and can be used in the air as well as on the ground. In the Vs. Marvel series, like almost all Hadoken Supers, this move is portrayed as a long energy beam. In X-Men: Children of the Atom, it is orange and is one of his ultimate attacks, with the additional ability to burn the opponent, similar to his Shakunetsu Hadoken and the Street Fighter Alpha series' version of the Messatsu Gou Hadou.

In Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Akuma fires the midair version diagonally-downwards towards the opponent, similarly to the Tenma Gou Zankuu; the game also introduced the variations named Messatsu Gou Hadou: Agyou (滅殺豪波動・阿形, "Annihilating Great Surge: Open-Mouthed Form") and Messatsu Gou Hadou: Ungyou (滅殺豪波動・吽形, "Annihilating Great Surge: Closed-Mouthed Form"). The former is a barrage of Hadoukens not unlike the original MvC series Tenma Gou Zankuu, while the latter is a beam fired from both palms, just like the original Messatsu Gou Hadou.

It usually hits up to eight times in the Street Fighter, while in the crossover games, it can hit more than 8 times. In some games, by using Akuma's Satsui no Hado taunt, its damage and lethality increases.
