Input
Appearance Function Input
Marvel vs. Capcom series Special Attack Airborne-only Up Up-forward Forward + Kick
Hyper Street Fighter Alpha Special Attack Airborne-only Quarter-circle forward + Kick
Street Fighter V Special Attack Quarter-circle forward + Kick

Description

Executed by performing a quarter-circle forward motion and pressing kick (Charlie Nash) or in the air, executed by press up, up forward and forward [(Air) U + Uf + F] (Shadow), Charlie/Shadow leaps into the air and performs a front-somersaulting slamming kick that moves him forward a fair distance and causes him to drop to the ground mid-kick.

The attack can only be performed from the ground (Shadow's version can only be done in the air) and resembles an inverted Flash Kick. This is the first special move of Charlie's to have a circle-motion input.

The EX version, Charlie makes two Moonsault Slashes strung together, with Charlie using the momentum from the first kick to twist in the air and launch a subsequent Slash.

Tactics

The Moonsault Slash is one of Charlie's best tools to approach and pressure the opponent, with both the light and medium versions being quite safe on block. In the previous Vs. games, it was mainly used as an alternate air combo finisher to most of Charlie's air combos.

The heavy and EX versions of Moonsault Slash are far more unsafe, but deal much more damage and are quite good at air-to-airing attacks, something that the light and medium versions are somewhat poor at.
