The Raishin Mahhaken (雷震魔破拳 Raishin Mahaken?, "Thunder Quake Demon Blasting Fist") is one of Yang's special attacks, introduced as his first Super Art in the Street Fighter III series.

Description

Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch (in the Street Fighter III series) or all 3 punch buttons (in Super Street Fighter IV), Yang adopts a snake-style kung fu stance then dashing forward with a hand thrust. If this connects, he will twist his hand and swipe it upwards, knocking the opponent up into the air slightly. What happens next depends on the version.

Street Fighter III series

Yang will immediately finish the combo by dashing past the opponent with a forward leaning hand thrust, hitting multiple pressure points and inflicting sizable damage.

Street Fighter IV series

Raishin Mahhaken

"Raishin... Mahhaken!"

Yang follows the upward swipe with a smaller Tourou Zan that leaves him on the far side of the opponent, followed by a vertical Tourou Zan, a jumping, flipping hand slash which hits multiple times, then another Tourou Zan ("Raishin...") that leaves him on the side he started on ("...Mahhaken!"), and finally the dashing pressure point strike from the Super Art version which sends Yang straight through the opponent before they fly back a few moments later in a similar manner to Gen's Zan'ei ("Looks like you couldn't avoid that one!").

Tactics

Though its setups are limited, the move is relatively safer on block compared to most other Super Arts in the Street Fighter III series. Done fast enough, it will connect after a Zenpou Tenshin, albeit with scaled damage.

In 3rd Strike, the move has two stocks instead of one, but does much less damage. It is also slower and requires more precise timing than in 2nd Impact, where Yang could simply jump in with the move after landing an airborne hit.
