In January of 1984, Malibu Comics released a Street Fighter comic book series. The series has a unique style of art; making the characters look more American based. The series is based on Street Fighter II, but gives a different backstory of the characters and also their relationships with other characters change from the official ones. The series is not canon because of its difference from the original story. The series was unsuccessful and was canceled after the third issue. In 2005, UDON comics made a new American Street Fighter comic series.
