Game modes

  • Two player versus mode
  • Action adventure single player mode [1] entitled Ryu’s Journey.[2]

Controls

The design document proposed a "New Millennium" control scheme of four buttons and special movies that were easier to execute on gamepads, though players could opt for “classic” characters with traditional controls.

E.g. "New Millennium" Ryu's dragon punch could be performed using down + punch, and his hurricane kick could be performed using back + punch.

This control scheme was later adopted for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.[3]
