Dan and Ran[]

On SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium, Dan and Ryo are considered rivals. When combined as a tag team, they are called "The Big Bros." Though Capcom themselves didn't make this game, this is an unmentioned source that Ran is Dan's little sister. Beau (talk) 18:41, August 20, 2013 (UTC)

Ryo stance easter egg in SFV[]

When idle, Dan will change his stance for a bit reminiscent of Ryo Sakazaki's stance in KOF 98—Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.200.250.77 (talkcontribs)

Country of origin[]

I do believe that this article mistakenly says that our boi Dan's birthplace is "hong kong"; however, the very existance of this, erm, country is heavily debated, and the sources cited are shaky at best since they link to a Japaneese web-site, and the Japaneese are, generally, very biased against the interests of People's Republic of China (see Nanjing Rape Massacre, etc.), in part, due to all of the sinophobic propaganda. How about we right the wrong and put the actual country of People's Republic of China as Dan's birthplace? Maybe mention "honk kong" as a province he was born at or whatever (if we manage to find actual sources in in-game lore that support this claim, of course)—Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.93.135.56 (talkcontribs)

The "shaky" sources are official information, and of course one of them leads to a Japanese website, Capcom is a Japanese company after all. If/when they change Dan's birthplace to something else then we will do it here as well, otherwise we don't remove official stats at all.158.174.44.11 04:59, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Yes, you are absolutely correct in the assesment that official information states that Dan's place of birth is "honk hong"; however, you should work on your reading comprehension, because you've managed to miss the point completely; my point is that since "honk kong" is not a country, at least in the wider recognition, the factually correct thing to put in the "birthplace" info box is People's Republic of China, since we usually put names of countries in this info box (see Chun Li), and not mere (you could say, somewhat separatist) provinces.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.93.135.56 (talkcontribs)

"hong gonk" is a province in People's Republic of China, if you didn't know this fact yet; maybe that's the piece of the puzzle that you are missing. I hope this error was unintentional, since, as wikitarians, we should strive to represent actual information, without bias, and not say wrong things, at least when we don't need to.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.93.135.56 (talkcontribs)

I'm aware of Hong Kong being a province in China as well as Chun-Li's birthplace being in the latter but the fact remains the same when it comes to respresenting official information in wikias. The Street Fighter devlopment team within Capcom are the ones responsible for coming up with fighters' birthplaces to begin with so these kind of issues are something that needs to be aimed at them.158.174.44.11 19:13, 23 March 2021 (UTC)
