Isn't he based on Shin Akuma/Shin Gouki not Gouken? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zyeike (talkcontribs)

Oni's origin concept[]

Take a good look at these pictures and smash them together. :P Skin color, horns, and the bottom sharp teeth come from the Red Aremeer transformation and the fighting stance and the slight gut are from the SVC Chaos character artwork. Although Oni doesn't have full fledged horns. Stitchking118:49, April 9, 2011 (UTC)

Who says the prayer beads check his power?[]

I've done some searching, and I haven't seen anything that suggest that the prayer beads kept his power under control. Sources please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.96.14.178 (talkcontribs)

Unlocked Shin Oni.[]

It is possible to play as Shin Oni, Akuma, Gouken and Evil Ryu on the PC version by hacking. Shin Oni floats in the air and has fully charged hadoukens! Just google 'SSFAE boss characters move swap'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Devang.home47 (talkcontribs)

Beyond human[]

Seriously who keeps adding this line everywhere in stuff related to Akuma? In the Shin Akuma section someone added Kami + Hito means beyond human and now Demon King means beyond human? I am removing that line. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Devang.home47 (talkcontribs)

did these 6'6" and 300 lbs measurements come from? The citation linking to SSF4's Japanese website says unknown. Devang.home47 11:38, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

I am also changing his hair colour from light blue to white with light blue tinges and eyes from light red to orange with bright yellow irises. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Devang.home47 (talkcontribs)

There is no 'Shin Oni'[]

All there is is a non-selectable version with different hit priorities and damage. No character is labeled Shin in SF4, at all - not even the boss version of Akuma. Stop using this as a short hand for these boss character versions of selectable characters. Nobody refers to the boss version of Seth as Shin Seth. Just stop it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.252.167.120 (talkcontribs)

Are you trolling? If I remember correctly, the use of the moniker 'Shin' is just a fan term started by the Japanese to denote boss characters that was eventually canonized by Capcom. I mean, the boss Akuma was never referred to as Shin Akuma officially anywhere in Super Turbo. Shin Akuma wasn't called Shin Akuma in SFA2 (ok there was a Shin Akuma mode in SFZ2A). And I don't particularly remember any label saying Shin Akuma in SF3:2I either. The boss Akuma was called Shin Akuma only in CvS 2 and SFA3, best to my knowledge. So informally the boss characters in SF4 are Shin Akuma, Shin Gouken, Shin Evil Ryu and Shin Oni. Live with it. Devang.home47 06:44, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
BTW for whats it worth, the boss version of Seth is number 21, while the playable one is the inferior Model # 15 Devang.home47 20:20, June 8, 2012 (UTC)

Okay[]

I can't seem to edit the article without it blanking itself somehow. I think we might need to move some of the info; perhaps the sheer size of the page may have something to do with it. Lord Grammaticus 18:50, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Oni translation should e consider as demon not an ogre. as sf 5 japanese story and english version confirms it. so we can conclude clearly mad demon, wrathful demon or raging demon. thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.65.157.92 (talkcontribs)
