The Tanden Engine (丹田エンジン, Tanden Enjin) is a powerful device developed by S.I.N. to be used in the "puppets" that are spare bodies for M. Bison should anything happen to his body, including Seth. The device takes the form of a large sphere adorned with the yin-yang design. It is located in the abdomen of these "puppets", and grants them a remarkable amount of power. It appears to harness both positive and negative energy, as evidenced by the colored energy that emanates from Seth's hands when he uses it.
|Tanden Engine||Special Attack||+|
A move with the same name, the Tanden Engine (丹田エンジン, Tanden Enjin), is one of Seth's special attacks. Executed by performing a quarter-circle backward motion and pressing punch, Seth brings his hands together in front of his abdomen and generates a miniature black hole which sucks the opponent toward Seth. The attack does not deal damage and is intended to put the opponent off balance, creating an opening to initiate a damaging attack or combo. Its effective range (how close the opponent needs to be for the "gravity" to affect them) depends on the punch button used. Notably, the EX Special version requires two segments of the Super Gauge instead of the usual requirement of just one segment. The EX version is considered far more useful than the standard version.
|Tanden Storm||Super Combo||+|
The Tanden Storm (丹田ストーム, Tanden Sutoomu) is Seth's Super Combo. Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing punch, Seth swirls his hands around in front of himself ("Let's take this to the next level!"), generating a miniature black hole which sucks the opponent toward Seth, similar to the Tanden Engine special attack, and finishes it off by blowing the opponent away if the move properly connects. Its effective range (how close the opponent must be to be affected by the gravitational force) depends on the punch button used. However, unlike the Tanden Engine, the black hole is larger and does deal damage to the opponent when they come into contact with it while not blocking. The attack lands a maximum of 21 hits (attainable by performing the move at point blank range).
|Tanden Stream||Ultra Combo I||+|
The Tanden Stream (丹田ストリーム, Tanden Sutoriimu) is Seth's first Ultra Combo. Executed by performing two quarter-circle forward motions and pressing all 3 punch buttons, Seth swirls his hands around ("See what I'm really made of!") and then releases an invisible projectile. If the projectile hits the opponent, they are pushed backward. If the opponent did not block, they are then sucked into a vortex emanating from the Tanden Engine in Seth's abdomen ("Become a part of me!"). Once inside the Tanden Engine, the opponent is swirled around, suffering damage as Seth laughs maniacally. He then fires the opponent out like a missile and they hit the "invisible wall" of the screen face-first ("It's over!"). Despite the attack taking a longer-than-average amount of time, it does surprisingly little damage unless Seth is controlled by the CPU as a final boss in Arcade Mode.
|Tanden Typhoon||Ultra Combo II||+|
The Tanden Typhoon (丹田タイフーン, Tanden Taifuun) is Seth's second Ultra Combo. Executed by performing two quarter-circle backward motions and pressing all 3 punch buttons, Seth bends backwards ("Behold the glory that is the Tanden Engine!") with his face towards the opponent and releases a gigantic tornado out of the Tanden Engine, which is aimed diagonally upwards across the screen as Seth laughs maniacally. The attack itself is best used as an anti-air, as it can catch people trying to jump in. Just like his first Ultra Combo, this move does not inflict much damage unless Seth is controlled by the CPU as a final boss in Arcade Mode.
