Both variations require a quarter-circle forward motion and either a punch or kick button. If punch is pressed, Q will suddenly jump forward at the opponent and explode. This attack has decent range, but can be blocked.
If a quarter-circle forward motion is performed and kick is pressed, Q will grab the opponent and explode. This grab only works in extreme close quarters, but is unblockable. Once Q explodes, he is knocked some distance from the opponent while still burning. Q can usually only explode once per use - whereupon the Super Gauge immediately empties and the timer ends.
The attack also has some unusual properties; for starters, it does not immediately K.O. the opponent. Instead, the section of their Health Bar that the target would lose goes red and quickly drains. Most of the time it drains so quickly as to make no difference; however, in certain circumstances, Q can be KOed before the opponent's health completely drains.
Another unusual property is that although he usually can only explode once, when it trades hits, it sometimes seems to not register as being used, and Q can attempt an explosion again.
