The Valiant Rebellion (勇猛なる決起 Yuumounaru Kekki?), commonly called the Stomp, is one of Necalli's special attacks, introduced in Street Fighter V.

Input

All appearances Quarter Circle Forward + Kick

Description

Executed by performing a quarter-circle forward motion and pressing kick, Necalli lifts his leg up and then brings it forcefully down in an stomping motion.

This move has different properties depending on the kick button pressed. Light kick starts the fastest and has no delay, making it the perfect tool in blockstrings. It is also the easiest way for Necalli to hit-confirm into his Critical Art. The medium kick is slower to start but can be cancelled into and linked out of, making it the best option for long combos. The heavy and EX versions are best used as combo enders. During the EX version, Necalli follows up the first stomp with another. Upon activating V-Trigger, the heavy kick version gains the ability to launch opponents, putting them in a juggle state.

The attack has limited reach, but the hitbox during the stomp makes the attack useful for evading and then punishing attempted jabs and shorts. The attack is therefore useful in a frame trap. The applications of this move are quite similar to Evil Ryu's Ryusokyaku.

Etymology

The name of this move is an obscure reference to Aztec mythology. Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec Sun god is said to be locked in an eternal battle with his siblings to protect their mother. His siblings are described as 'rebellious' [1]. This move is Huitzilopochtli/Necalli proverbially crushing the said rebellion by brutally stomping upon it.
